If you’ve been searching for somatic healing, you have come to the right place. For many years I worked 1-to-1 with clients, supporting them through body-based healing.
I’m not opening new 1-to-1 client spaces at the moment, but I didn’t want that to stop you from accessing this transformative work. That’s why I created the Somatic Self Healing programme - a way for you to experience the same techniques and practices I use in therapy sessions, with my personal guidance and support walking alongside you (including email support).

It brings together the same approaches I use in therapy; trauma-informed mindfulness, somatic therapy, hypnotherapy, breathwork, and somatic yoga, in a guided journey you can take at home.
I’ve poured my heart into making it a safe and transformative space for you to reconnect with your body, befriend your mind, and move forwards more peacefully.

what is somatic self healing?
from the greek word 'soma' meaning the living body in it's wholeness, somatic techniques honour the connection between the body and the mind.
One of the principles of somatics is that the stories in your mind (your thoughts) follow the state in your body (your feelings), yet we often try to tackle our problems by changing our thoughts e.g. by "thinking positively", cognitive and talking therapy, and neglect tending to our bodies.
When our bodies feel unsafe, they adapt into survival states (fight, flight, freeze/shut down) to keep us safe. Sometimes, the body can get stuck in these states even when in reality we are now safe.
Somatic healing techniques help us to gently reconnect with our bodies and pay attention to their sensations, and then help our bodies to learn we are safe now, so they can release the survival states and our symptoms helping us to feel better.

my approach to healing:
My trauma-informed approach honors the wisdom of the body; it is always trying to keep us safe and many symptoms such as anxiety, low moods, fatigue, dissociation can be a result of being stuck in survival states.
My Somatic Self Healing programme combines psychoeducation (using the polyvagal theory framework) to help you compassionately understand your symptoms and the therapeutic application of trauma informed mindfulness, breathwork and movement practices to gently help you reconnect to your body, regulate your nervous system and create a healing environment of safety.
As you move through the programme you'll come to know that I am your guide, but you are the healer. All of the healing comes from you, with tools that are already inside of you - I'm here to help you to find them.

At this time, the way to work with me is through the Somatic Self Healing programme, which brings together the practices I’ve seen make the biggest difference for clients: nervous system education, breathwork, mindful movement, and other somatic techniques for anxiety, stress, and trauma recovery.
This journey is designed to give you the same supportive framework as 1-to-1 work, with the added benefit of ongoing resources you can return to again and again - building safety, resilience, and a deeper connection with your body.

Inside you’ll explore the same body-first practices I use with clients - combining nervous system education with gentle, practical tools for anxiety, stress, and trauma recovery. Each step is designed to help you feel calmer, more connected to your body, and supported in your healing journey.
This is a self-paced online programme with videos, audio practices, and workbooks that guide you step by step. You can revisit the practices anytime, at your own pace.


about your guide:
Hello, I'm Claire.
I'm an integrative guide and therapist, & founder of The Somatic Project. I specialise in trauma-informed mindfulness, somatic trauma therapy, hypnotherapy and somatic yoga. Over the years I have guided hundreds of people through group and individual healing journeys including domestic abuse survivors, military & medical personnel and appearing on TV!
As a trauma-trained practitioner, you feeling safe in your programme and practices is my number one priority.
After being disconnected from my own body for many years with an eating disorder, I finally learnt to come home and reconnect to my body through mindfulness, somatics and yoga.
Now I just love all bodies; and it is my passion to help people understand and come home to live peacefully in their own bodies with these healing tools and practices.
